Insert [latest|picasa] where yoiu want the slide show to appear.

This Plugin does not use default slideshow provided by Picasa, instead it imports photos through API. There will not be Picaa logo in the slideshow. You can configure the album to be used from your picasa account.

• Optimise your theme: Your theme might be responsible for slowing down your website. Try to minimize your database operations and optimize your code by reducing function calls.
• Use less plugins: Use a plugin if you are sure you need it. Some plugins consume more resource than even wordpress core. So, if you feel your website is slow, review the plugins you used. Dont install any plugins that are not used.
• Check your server configuration: Make sure your web host is optimized for wordpress.
• Replace php queries with static html codes: There are many function calls that are made in your theme just to produce something that is already known to you. You can just avoid that and use static html codes instead. For ex:
  
• Host your images in flicker/picasa: There are many free image hosting website available. You can use one to reduce load on your server. There are many plugins to help you do this including constructing a photo gallery.
• Height and Width tags for images: Make sure you use these tags for your images. This will speed up page generation in the browser.

• Use scripts in separate files
• Css in the top, js in the bottom
• Disable unused plugins

Settings->media

Wordpress thumbnail settings page

Here you can change the width and height as you required. If you tick the option "Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions (normally thumbnails are proportional)" then the thumbnail size will be exact same as you specified. It will be a cropped image. If you remove this tick, WordPress will take either width or height to generate the thumbnail.

Now, if there are many articles already posted with lot of images and you want to regenerate all the thumbnails. Is there any easy solution?

Yes. There is a smart plugin called "Regenerate Thumbnails". Regenerate Thumbnails allows you to regenerate the thumbnails for all of your image attachments. This is very handy if you've changed any of your thumbnail dimensions (via Settings -> Media) after previously uploading images.

After installing this plugin got to its setting page and click regenerate thumbnails. It will regenerate thumbnails of all the images uploaded previously.

If you are facing this problem, try disabling Google Gears. Go to Tools-> Add-ons, select Extensions.  Look for Google Gears in the list and click disable. Try uploading the image after the restart.

It changes the extension of all the media files like AVI (.avi), Music (mp3, ...) to .jpg.
This just canges the file extension. Not the file format. To play the media file, you need to re-change the file extension to the previous type, or open the file using the media player. Malware name is MediaControl.exe.
It internally creates a folder by name "mcont" in AppData of OS drive. AutoRun inside mcont also puts the MediaControl.exe to the winwos start up of msconfig.

How To Remove MediaControl.exe?:

1. Kill the process MediaControl.exe is running.

* Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the windows taskmanager.
* Click on the Processes tab
* Search the MediaControl.exe, Click on End Process button at Bottom right.

2. Remove MediaControl link from Windows Start up

* Click on Windows Start Button, and on the Run option at the right side of the window,
* Type msconfig on the form opened at left bottom. This will open the System Configuration Utility.
* Click on Start Up tab.
* Search for MediaControl, Untick the link. Click Apply -> OK, Click on Exit Without Restart on the dialog opened.

3. Remove the AutoRun from Computer:

Option 1:
Using Command prompt inputs.

* Click on Windows Start Button, and on the Run option at the right side of the window,
* Type cmd, to open the command prompt window.
* Type the following command lines one by one.
o cd C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
o attrib -s -h -r /S /D *
o del *
o y
o cd C:\WINDOWS\system32\mcont\AutoRun
o attrib -s -h -r /S /D *
o del *
o y
o exit

Option 2
Using Safemode booting.

* Restart the Machine.
* Click F8 on Booting, this wil open the machine in safe mode for you.
* Browse for the folder mcont inside C:\Windows\System32\
* Delete the folder mcont.
* Restart the computer in the normal mode.
* Thats All.

Once you remove the mallware, your computer is free of mallware but, you are left with thousands of your media files changed its exentsion to .jpg. It is not an easy job to change the file extension one by one. You can use an Auto-Renamer programs.
