Solution: Firefox crashes when uploading Image in WordPress
June 2, 2009 by: adminMany wordpress users are facing the problem of browser crash when uploading image(or any other attachment like video, document, audio etc) in wordpress. This happens when you click "Add an image" button in wordpress near "Upload/insert"

Crash window will be like this:

It says "We 're sorry. Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts"
If you are facing this problem, try disabling Google Gears. Go to Tools-> Add-ons, select Extensions. Look for Google Gears in the list and click disable. Try uploading the image after the restart.

What if Google Gears isn’t there?
I tried your solution, but I don’t have Google Gears installed either. However I was able to solve the problem end by removing Adobe Reader and then installing it again.
Actually I had to uninstall something like 8 programs before I found Adobe Reader that was the culprit.
But I’m glad I didn’t have to reimage my hard drive (this crashing thingy was starting to go on my nerves, and today I was prepared to fix this, hell or high water)
Thanks for the tip though, I didn’t find that many solutions when I Googled this issue, but I did find a LOT of folks with the same problem, so I figured I’d share
I feel like I’m always looking for interesting things to read about a variety of topics, but I manage to include your site among my reads every day because you have honest entries that I look forward to. Here’s hoping there’s a lot more amazing material coming!
